Sorry for the radio silence; I’m hoping to get this Substack up and running again in the next couple of months. For now, I find myself unable to tweet (apparently a common problem), so if you’d like me to write me or just read my latest thoughts, you can find me on Radiopaper.
I’m hoping the current impossibility of tweeting might be an occasion for everyone to try a medium that’s more conducive to charitable and interesting discourse. There are already a lot of great folks on there: Leah Libresco Sargeant, Matthew Schmitz, Eve Tushnet, Clare Coffey, Agnes Callard, and many others.
On Radiopaper, you can post a bulletin (of any length) which is a bit like a tweet, but the core artifact is an exchange between two parties, and these aren’t published until the second party replies to the initial message. If someone sends you something that’s not worth engaging with, you just don’t reply, and nobody ever sees it. This leads to higher quality content, across the board.
Also, you can use Radiopaper to publicly correspond with anybody who has an email address; if you have a Radiopaper account, you can send a message to your interlocutor’s email address, and the exchange will be published if/when they reply.
Anyhow, passing this along in case it’s of interest!
